Australia’s Prime Minister Tony Abbott today announced a revised energy policy plan centering on the value of visual splendour.
A panel of artistic experts sketched plans to spruce up the aesthetic attractiveness of wind turbine farms but were unable to fashion that picture perfect look.
“Wind farms are too uneasy on the eye – we can work much better with the structurally gorgeous canvas of the coal power station,” one fine art panellist said.
PM Abbott was questioned about the subjectivity of beauty through the famous Confucian quote: ‘Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it’.
Abbott responded with praise for Confucius saying, “He clearly knew what he was talking about when it came to the environment – it is a thing of beauty but not everyone will get a chance to see it”.
