Wasabi Pea launched its run for election last month with high expectations of success given the current Prime Minister received around 25% ballot support from eligible voters in last year’s general election.

“We believe that even if we do next to nothing we can match Abe’s approval rating,” said the Pea.

However, the Pea is aiming to emulate the current Prime Minister’s long-term maintenance of power by mirroring Abe’s unique style of ignoring the large majority of the public.

Wasabi Pea has pledged to imitate the present government by doing the opposite of what the electorate wants and ramming through more hostile security bills. Critics say the Pea is simply following in his grandfather’s footsteps, GrandPea.

“I’ve learnt from Abe that in a democracy the leaders decide what’s right. Politicians and power brokers propose the laws, the people disagree, they legislate the laws, and then the public forgets about it later.”
