A self-proclaimed male model sporting a ginger blonde beard has had his long-term career ambitions in Japan dashed by a sharp decline in the popularity of lengthy facial hair.
The latest phenomenon of revealing 100 per cent of a models face has left many fundamentally ordinary looking men concerned about their job security.
“I tell everyone I meet that I’m a male model, even my students – this will ruin me,” the aspiring model said.
The Beard Union for Models (BUMs) has expressed its dismay at magazine cover trends in Tokyo increasingly exhibiting cheekbone structures, which is placing heavy strains on BUM members.
The rising pressures on BUMs may force Ginger Blonde Beard Model to increase his total ratio of income earned from English teaching from 80 per cent to 100 per cent over the coming year.
Fashion experts are forecasting the beard to disappear from magazine stands by early next year. However, Ginger Blonde Beard is expected to remain until next summer when humidity begins to outweigh the lack of further job opportunities.
