Hillary Clinton’s announcement to run for the 2016 U.S. presidency has received a warm welcome across America knowing it will be one less candidate they will have to get to know.
Americans broke away from a monarchical system of politics in a minor quarrel with their British masters back in 1776, but citizens are willing to receive another well-connected millionaire career politician if it means less political homework.
“We forgive her countless scandals just as long as I don’t have to learn about the credentials of any new presidential hopefuls,” said one relieved voter.
“Who has the time to read up about new candidates when there is at least another four new series coming to Netflix next month?”
Jeb Bush, also set to run for the presidency, offers voters another candidate they can pretend to know a lot about, being brother of former president George W. Bush who is known for his tough stance on terrorists and tough stance on people believed to be terrorists.
“A Bush-Clinton faceoff will be the dream scenario – I can continue to pretend that I know what I’m talking about in political conversations with my friends, even though I’m clueless about their actual policies,” another voter said.
