A Caucasian gaijin from the U.K. living in Japan for over twenty years has finally become Japanese.
“I can’t believe it took so long even though I got used to wearing a white mask just a few years after arriving in Tokyo,” said Dwayne White.
White, a 47-year-old English teacher, had tried desperately for two decades to turn Japanese.
“I had even started changing my seat position to a side seat on busy trains when they became available – but not even that seemed to be working,” said White.
White believes the transformation was settled when he changed his normal pillow for a rice filled pillow.
“I’m just looking forward to getting a regular amount of wasabi placed inside my next tuna sushi order,” said White.
