A young man in Tokyo has presented his girlfriend with a bunch of flowers and a box of breads for Valentine’s Day.
“Thank you! I just can’t get enough of that sweet sweet bread taste,” Naoko Tsukamoto said after receiving her gift.
These customary Valentine’s Day presents in Japan often lead to prolonged mutual eye-gazing and extensive periods of holding hands.
The extraordinarily high levels of sugar in a standard loaf makes for an extremely potent aphrodisiac.
Just one slice of bread contains enough sugar to help couples sustain the holding of hands for up to 20 minutes at a time.
“Naoko and I were able to keep going for at least 15 minutes after we both shared a slice,” said Yoshiyuki Honda.
