A salaryman going into his sixth consecutive day of not working has died from over-vacation.
The man’s body was found inside his apartment staring blankly at a white wall.
Investigators are not treating the death as suspicious saying 33-year-old Kenji Watanabe died from ‘yasumishi’ (休み死).
The man’s family have, however, blamed Kenji’s company for allowing him to endure a holiday spanning more than three days.
“The last we heard from Kenji-kun was that he was considering taking up a new hobby – sleeping,” said Kenji’s mother.
“What did his company expect? What was Kenji supposed to do with all that extra life?”
Kenji’s family released a statement saying they will be suing the company for compensation.
